RS Components udvider sit 3D print-sortiment med filamenter af høj kvalitet fra Verbatim

Plastfilament fremstillet efter ekstremt lave fejlgrænser
til ensartet indføring og stabilt 3D-udskrivning

September 2014 – RS Components (RS), handelsmærke for Electrocomponents plc (LSE:ECM), ingeniørernes globale distributør, har annonceret, at 3D print-filament af høj kvalitet fra Verbatim er på markedet. PLA- og ABS-filamenterne fra denne førende producent udvider RS' 3D print-sortimentet, så man kan opnå yderligere fordele ved hurtig prototypefremstilling af design.

Verbatims PLA- og ABS-sortimenter fås i filamenter med en diameter på 1,75 mm diameter. PLA-serien leveres også med en filamentdiameter på 3 mm. Begge leveres på 1 kg-spoler og i et udvalg af farver, herunder rød, grøn og blå. Filament af PLA (polymeriseret mælkesyre ) er et biologisk nedbrydeligt bioplastmateriale, som udvindes af majs, og som med garanti ikke indeholder tungmetaller eller almindeligt udbredte kemikalier såsom ftalater og bisfenol-A (BPA). Filament af ABS (akrylonitril-butadien-styren) er en copolymer fremstillet af styren, akryl og butadien, som er både slagfast og hårdt.

Både ABS- og PLA-materialerne fremstilles i Japan og opfylder ekstremt lave fejlgrænser, der sikrer ensartet indføring og stabil udskrivning. Filamenterne leveres i vakuumforseglede poser med tørremiddel og er viklet på en spole for nem afrulning.

PLA- og ABS-filamenterne er velegnede til en lang række 3D-printere og supplerer det eksisterende 3D print-sortiment fra RS. RS er blandt de første distributører, som lagerfører Verbatim 3D print-filamenter bredt i Europa, Mellemøsten og Afrika.
